Character(s) at Invoria: Cynric, Ayleth
--------------------
Character Name (and journal, if one is already made): Ayleth Löwenherz {
lowetohigh
Age: 16
PB: Kristina Romanova
Stranger/Native: Native
Class: Summoner (training)
Occupation: Heiress, theoretical Lady, aspiring dragon trainer
History: Ayleth was born to one of the scattered nobles of Invoria-- Alvar Löwenherz the Deliberate, Lord of Allontanare. Her mother was Lady Rahela, an enchantress known best as the Diamond Sorceress. As a very young child, both parents encouraged her to chase her passions and thoroughly enjoy the world around her, raising their very bright little girl to be completely hungry with curiosity. Unfortunately, when she was eight, her father was called to serve and, although he fought valiantly, was killed in battle. Losing the great love of her life broke Rahela's heart, causing her to withdraw to the mountainous realm of her birth in the desire to forsake the company of men.
This left little Ayleth in nominal leadership of Allontanare. The administration of her lands is left largely to her uncles Maksim and Tobiah, while her personal tutelage is left to her protective guardian Lanzo. Her mother does still come to visit, giving Ayleth a firm sense of still being quite beloved, but her uncles have been far more insistent that she get her head out of the clouds and her attention to learning more properly how to be the Lady who will see to Allontanare until she marries.
Much though she's being hustled through growing up, and heavy though the weight on her young shoulders is, Ayleth refuses to completely give in to what the world expects of her. She doesn't want to be a Lady--she wants to be some sort of sorceress like her mother, has already been showing an aptitude with arcane spell-casting. Her father was a warrior and her mother a mage: she absolutely will not be stopped from becoming friends with dragons, no matter how hard Lanzo tries to stop her slipping away to run free in the world.
Since Play Started: - Has acquired Julien (
swordsandsnarls) as a bodyguard
- Has fallen head-over-heels in love with Johnny (
fiddlerjohnny)
- Has gone on a quest to obtain a dragon pup (Aodhan ; art cred j miller)
- Has broken off an engagement to someone rather eligible
- Has left home to wander with her gentlemen and growing dragon
Personality: Ayleth is entirely precocious. She's clever and picks things up quickly, and typically considers herself to be at least as apt at things as the adults she's with. For the most part, she's able to admit that her practical experience is limited, and can be incredibly respectful and attentive to those willing to teach her the sorts of skills she can't learn at home in a book. Like her father, Ayleth is a bit headstrong and impulsive, not always quite able to reign in her smiles or scowls despite her training toward being a proper Lady. More than anything, however, she's marked for her curiosity--about everything.
Your Goals for Your Character: Although she'll never admit it, she's a bit of a lost soul, caught between her responsibilities and her natural impulses. I'd like her to find a way to be herself without completely running away from her family, to come out of her shell as a young adult without feeling like she has to choose between herself and expectations.
